German articles and nouns form the foundation of the German language. German has three grammatical genders (masculine, feminine, neuter) that determine the article.

1. Definite Articles

The definite articles in German are: der (masculine), die (feminine), das (neuter), die (plural)

📝 Examples:

der Mannthe man(maskulin)
die Frauthe woman(feminin)
das Kindthe child(neutral)
die Männerthe men(Plural)

2. Indefinite Articles

The indefinite articles are: ein (masculine/neuter), eine (feminine). There is no indefinite article in plural.

📝 Examples:

ein Manna man
eine Fraua woman
ein Kinda child
Männermen(kein Artikel)

3. Plural Formation

The plural is formed by various endings: -e, -en, -er, -s, or by umlaut. There is no fixed rule.

📝 Examples:

der Tag → die Tagethe day → the days(-e)
die Frau → die Frauenthe woman → the women(-en)
das Kind → die Kinderthe child → the children(-er)
das Auto → die Autosthe car → the cars(-s)
